How to Become an IAS Officer?


To become an IAS Officer of the Indian Administrative Service, per annum the CSE exam is conducted by UPSC. UPSC exam is conducted to provide 24 services, IPS, IAS, IFS,IRAS etc., One has to clear the exam of UPSC (union public service commission) . IAS officer have higher power than any minister of the country, and even have higher responsibility to keep up law and orders of the country. What is the educational qualification for IAS/ IAS officer qualification? The candidate who passed out his/her graduation and +2, he she may liable for an IAS Officer (for UPSC exam). How to become IAS officer after graduation?  To apply for UPSC exam graduation degree is compulsory. Every year around 10 lakh candidates apply for UPSC exam, from which 5-6 lakh people write of around. From which 1000 or quite thousand were selected. There are four criteria to write down an exam: Citizen of India, Age Limit, Number of Times attempt for an exam, Degree.

 

The Age limit for UPSC exam is:

 

For General Category candidates is 21-32

 

For OBC Category is 21-35

 

For SC/ST Category is 21-37

 

For Ex-Servicemen Category is 21-37

 

And so on.

 

The no of times candidate should attempt exam consistent with the limit of category, Like for General category, OBC and Physically challenged candidates are susceptible to attempt 9 times of UPSC exam. And SC/ST category candidates were susceptible to attempt unlimited time, till their regulation . This exam has three stages. Preliminary exam, main exam, interview.

 

Preliminary exam takes place in first stage. Preliminary exam is conducted in June per annum . Preliminary have two papers, both are going to be objective multiple choice papers, paper 1 will test on general studies. Which includes subject such as History, Geography and Current Affairs. Paper 2 is on the basis of Aptitude which includes topics like Comprehension, Problem Solving Skills, and Article Ability.

After qualifying preliminary examination , subsequent stage is mains, mains may be a written examination, and can have 9 papers, which includes subjects such as Language, Technology, Indian Heritage, Security and Disaster Management, Ethics then on. The total marks is 1750 of mains exam. Main exam is conducted in September-October.

 

When the mains exam is cleared by candidate, then they were short listed for personal interview. The total marks is 275 of personal interview. The purpose of this interview is to find out out the candidate. The mind is present at that time or not and he/she may enough leadership qualitites or not. Things that will need to if you are going to make important decisions for our country. The interview test is conducted in March-April. The final results of the UPSC exam comes within the end of May. At the end of all stages, the rank would be made on the basis of marks candidate score from 2025 marks.  After making the cut, the candidate will be on the way of IAS Officer.

 

To crack the exam of UPSC, candidates need to lot of studies. Mostly those candidates have clear the upsc exam, who have dream to become IAS, IPS etc. The UPSC is that the toughest exam of the country. Students practice a lot to clear the exam, some of the candidates join academy's to practice for exam. Intelligence, mind presence, activeness, knowledge etc. is needed to become an IAS officer.

 

What is the Role of IAS officer?

 

The role of IAS officer is extremely venerable, demands an excellent deal of responsibility and reverence.

 

1. Handling role of state that involve framing and implementation of policy in consultation with the concerned minister.

 


2. Implementing policies through supervision and also travelling to the places where the approved policies are going to be implemented.

 

3. If any mis-happening or violation of rules arises when IAS officer is on duty, then he/she have to answering to parliament and state legislation.

 

4. The duties, responsibilities and functions are different at distinct level of career.

 

5. An IAS officer functions at district level to manage affairs of the district along with operation of development program.

11. The officers can also be appointed within the State Secretaries or they'll function heads of Departments or publicly Sector Undertakings.

How do I apply for the IAS exam online?

 

1. Visit the official site of upsc-www.upsc.gov.in

 

2. Go to “apply online” tab.

 

3. Click on “online application for different examinations”

 

4. Find the civil services (preliminary) examination

 

5. Start IAS registration with part-1,

 

6. Candidate have to fill all the details like educational qualification, address etc.

 

7. Pay the prescribed application fee

 

8. Choose the exam center

 

9. Candidate have to upload his/her photo, signature and identity proof like adhar card etc.

 

10. Accept the declaration.

 

11. Check the complete details and submit.

 IAS Careers

 

IAS officials’ careers began with regional training for local officials and then their first positions. Your initial role is the District Judge (SDM), and you are in charge of the District Department. As an SDM, you will be responsible for the law enforcement, general management, and development of the division. After the training, IAS employees will be assigned to various positions in state and union governments, local governments, Zilla communities, and public sector companies.  

 


 In 2015, the appointment of a new deputy secretariat of the Central Secretariat was announced so that new IAS staff could be seconded to Delhi for three months as part of the training.   After nine years of service, the delegations transferred to the Secretariat of the Central Committee found that they had poor experience in performing central functions in these delegations.   This is why this change in personnel composition inspired their respective departments and passed their respective ministries’ Of all the projects, 36 will be selected and submitted to all government ministers in India, so 16 will be selected and submitted to the Cabinet Secretary, and the last 8 will be selected and submitted to the Prime Minister.

 

IAS officer Salary:

The Salary of Junior IAS Officer are often around 60k per month, with tons of funds, like allowance , House Rental Allowance etc. When you become a Senior IAS Officer, it can be around 2.5 lakh per month or more.
